Usually I can easily asses a computer problem, I guess because I know a lot from the software side of things. I don't know as much about how the hardware works and I suspect I have a hardware problem.

Any programs out there that can analyze the hardware to look for problems?

Ok, I'm thinking of just taking my memory out and putting it back in, that helped me once before with a similar issue.

I use HWINFO, it is really good and it is free. Software info:

Both tools are designed to collect and present the maximum amount of information possible about computer's hardware which makes them suitable for users searching for driver updates, computer manufacturers, system integrators and technical experts as well. Retrieved information is presented in a logical and easily understandable form and can be exported into various types of reports.

This might help me with an issue that I asked about earlier in another post. Thanks for the info. I'll keep my fingers crossed and see what happens.

OK, what your looking for is software to test for the following.
- Ram Test e.g. memtest
- Hard Drive Test e.g. seagate tools
- computer stress test e.g. passmark

Simply google for these and you'll have a good selection of programs. There's no one program I know of that does them all. But use those suggested ones above regularly. I hope this helps.
