windows 7 or windows vista

I'm worried about finding drivers w/ a 64 bit version of Windows 7. I still have numerous periphs that I have to boot into XP to use, because my Vista 64 won't recognize them. I have an i7, 6 Gb RAM and it's still slooow

Vista has been a disaster and even beta 7 is an improvement. Using Vista still feels like a beta, with insanely slow transfer speeds and crippled firewire, etc. even after installing SP1

Yes me too... and I think after its release Microsoft will stop further support for windows XP as it did for windows 98.

I use windows XP an it works really well for me i think microsoft should quit worrying about money and make good operating systems instead of making a good system every couple years.

I have recently run Windows 7 and I must admit it drools over Vista. Have had Vista for over a year now and it is more trouble than trouble, So I cannot wait for the new Version of 7 to hit Final

I think that Windows 7 will be better than Vista.
Microsoft are trying to get the market share for Vista but they fail, due to a lot of people still remain using XP for stability and faster.
Coming soon, microsoft no longer will support XP anymore, so that Windows to oush in market to let the people have another choice besides upgrade to vista, this would be help for microsoft to avoid losing any market share to other competitor like Linux.

Oh, this one is easy... Windows 7 is fantastic, I'm using both, 7 and Vista ultimate.

Windows 7 is on my computer for about 4 months and it's working smoothly, with no bugs, with no crashes, just perfect... I'm hardly waiting official version...

If your computer has a ridiculous amount of memory, then go with Vista. Anything less then I'd stick with xP. <3 my xp.

I prefer Windows Vista... its easy to manage and well fit for the enterprise... aside form that it has a capacity to retrieve data easily.....

I am using Vista Ultimate on my notebook, but using Windows 7 on the PC, '7' is no doubt better.

But I wonder, why did MS named it 7?

Sorry, I couldn't resist...

By the way, I've installed windows7 on my netbook for 2 weeks, and so far so good.
It looks like the release vista should have been.It goes at a reasonable speed, I haven't encountered any software issues, and both cpu and ram usage are correct.
It looks like I will install a windows 7 on the next non-linux computer I'll have in my hands.
Which is fairly rare, but still happens once every 5/6 years...**** those family people and their word problems...

W7 is great, it is much faster than Vista because they stripped a bunch of the crap out while leaving some of the nicer points which have been overshadowed by the abject failure of vista.

As per the reviews of the beta version of Windows, it is way much better than Vista...

Hoping the same.....

Quite a bit, from all that I have read and tested. Granted, I am not a complete expert of Windows 7, but I have been playing around with it for the past few weeks. The biggest advantage that I can see so far is the fact that is not nearly as much as a resource hog as Vista is. The required specifications to run 7 are much lower than Vista.

There are also quite a few aesthetic changes as well, that, while not necessary to make the machine run better, do make for a decent change.

I also prefer to use windows than to vista. Beacuse vista is not applicable in other programs.
