Vista sucked literally. Windows 7 is what Vista should've been. The fact that it doesn't lag your computer to death says it all.

Window 7 fails to Window Vista by giving more excellent features.
Window 7 or Window XP both are more better than vista operating system.

Windows 7 is the best OS out there. If you prefer something else then downgrade two steps down to XP instead of Vista. There is no reason to use Vista if you have XP. I use Windows XP 64-bit for a year now and so far so good!

No doubt Windows 7 is better than Vista. It's what Vista was supposed to have been on release.

Wow! Maximum PC wrote an opus on the topic:
http://www.maximumpc.com/article/rev...ndows_7_review

The Verdict sums it up pretty darn good!
Quote:
Whether you’re coming from XP or Vista, Windows 7 offers a massive leap forward in usability, security, and support for new hardware and technology, especially for enthusiasts and power users. For anyone who regularly keeps many windows open at once time, the new Taskbar is worth the price of admission alone. For XP users, the security improvements are equally worthy of praise, while Vista users will be thrilled with the much improved, much less annoying UAC. Add in support for new hardware technologies, more new features, and the kernel improvements that should allow you to get more from your multi-core CPU, and Windows 7 becomes a tidy, compelling package to all Windows users.

Best of all, the new OS simply feels faster than Vista or even XP. As one editor said after a session testing the OS, it’s the best of both worlds—the user interface speed of XP and the features and security of Vista and more. That’s something to be lauded.

I use Windows 7 on my PC, ya! Win7 is better than WinVista for me it's like I'm running a Mac OSX on my PC because its faster than WinVista.

The only thing I didn't want on Win7 is, not all games can run on Win7.

I love Windows 7 too.

I just don't like Vista......I have seen considerable performance improvements after formatting Vista and installing Windows 7.

My bro's DV6 came with Vista which I replace with Windows 7 and also My own DV5 had Vista, which I also replaced with 7.

Now I have A Dell Inspiron 1564 that came with DOS, which I replaced with Windows 7 x64.

Though, I find XP to be fine too...But not Vista...If I find a machine with vista....(my own or my bro's) I immediately format it and install 7 on it ....lol

But that all said, many people spread myths about vista (that it is absolutely horrible). When Vista came out, the hardware was not enough for Vista. Vista needed more RAM, and most PC's didn't have enough of that RAM.

As time passed, and RAM's became cheaper, people had more RAM and Vista started to run fine.

But I still prefer 7 over vista and 7 is definitely an improvement over Vista.

The effect that Windows XP had over 2000 is the same as that of W7 over Vista. Compared to Vista, W7 is better.

Not so, very many corporates and big companies did NOT upgrade to XP but remained with Windows 2000 because it was stable and very reliable.

Many now are upgrading/adopting Windows 7 because it has proved itself as reliable as Win2k was.

Windows 7 is the latest release of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems, it provides lots of new features along with a newly designed interface. It looks very similar to Windows Vista but there are many GUI changes in it.
