The thread and posts have been most helpful for me, I have copied all the AntiVirus software names down and shall look into this further. I have always used Norton's and I am coming due for renewal, but I am not satisfied at all with the software. In fact right now I am debating whether or not to reinstall the software.

I am also using AVG and i have not had a pc virus in a really long time.

I used AVG. Then I install Kaspersky and it found virus.

One core can run the AV and anit-spyware, the other core can run the operating system

Are you suggesting I need something first to keep windows operating so I can install a anti virus program???? Sounds about right to me!!!

i use AVG it is very good program

right now i am using kespersky 2009 at my laptop , but before this i was big fan of macfee , but macfee become so slow so i uninstall it and start using kespersky till now its doing fine for me

I was using Bit Defender Total Security until it took control of everything. What ever you do DON'T get Bit Defender!

I am using McAfee. Its work really fine.

I use McAFEE virus enterprise. It works pretty well and I am fully satisfied with its service.

I only believe AVG free anti-virus software. its easy to use and reliable.

Boot from CD (into Ubuntu), mount windows partitions, run AV. Since windows isn't running, neither are the virii

Or just boot linux period and know your security and your set. Ditch the cd's.

If you are looking for a free one then try AVG.

I think AVG is terrible. A bloated system with poor handling of virus intrusions.. most problems I come across with AVG results in blocks and no quarantine.

I use to like mcafee until it decided to hold your hand, wipe your mouth, feed you sludge, wipe your.....

I'm currently with Panda.. straight to the point and barely intrusive to my 12 hour a day nerdy lifestyle.
