It looks like my 5-year-old HP color printer was the only fatality when I moved to TX two months ago (I saw the movers had put the box it was in upside down in the truck ) so it looks like I need to buy a new color printer but...

I used to have Epsons, and loved them, but I had to clean the heads ALL THE TIME.

I loved this HP (and never had to clean the head) but after their live chat support p'd me off yesterday, I'm thinking they won't be getting anymore money from me, so...

Who's happy with their printer? Does anyone recommend a particular brand?

I don't need an All-In-One - I have a scanner and a laser printer (B&W only) so I just need a color printer.

well i own the Lexmark X5070 the all in one but im sure they have the color printer only its great i have had it for quite sometime and it hasn't betrayed me yet

I own a lexmark 5495 and I am more than happy with it!! I think it prints alot per cartridge. I use less ink now then when I had HP. I will buy lexmark until they let me down.

I have a very good experience with HP printers and scanners. I am also planning to buy a new photo printer of this brand but haven’t decide the model yet.

HP makes the best printers. You already had success with them, so I don't see why you would want to buy something else. I don't think you should be avoiding them just because you had an argument with someone who works for them.

I have used and using a HP at work it works pretty good, not sure abt the model though.

HP is a good one. But it all depends of the use that you want to give

For home or small office I recommend my Canon Pixma 4500.
Its been very reliable and the colour ink cartidges are single colour and very cheap to buy or refill.

Well if you need a descent printer you can buy one of this a Canon I-9900 Photo Printer its good.

Being an old printer repair technician. I can say I loved Lexmark printers for all the money they made me earn.

Lexmark's quality of construction leaves things to be desired, expecially where their printers connect to extra paper trays and attachments. I was alway replacing paper tray commport structures and most of the time this required replacing major components of the casings. Also their paper rollers are far more difficult to access then a comparable HP.

Unfortunatly the support game has gone overseas like so many jobs of our jobs so don't expect support to be any better with Lexmark than it was with HP. Actually when I've had contact with their support teams I often ended up cursing.

My personal favorite is the Canons. They have long been in the front of the pack when it comes to ink quality, durability and printer resolutions.

For you old timers, remember the HP 2 laserjet printer. That printer was based upon the Canon SX printer engine. Which both HP and Canon sold. The only difference between the two brands was in the actual mainboard. the rest of the printer was identical, but the Canon SX unit was able to print in 600 dpi resolution where the HP 2 can only print in 300 dpi.

If I were you, i'll think between lexmark and HP. The first is cheap and easy to use but also easy to be broken, while the second is more expensive but more reliable at the same time=))))

I've always been using HP printers because of the quality though the cartridges may cost a lot more compared to other brands.

Now I am using Canon Pixma 3 in One printer. I think before you buy a printer you should consider about the price of printer cartridge for a particular brand. I have also used HP printer.
