Since macs are becoming more popular, won't they be targeted for viruses or will they always be free of windows issues?

Windows, Macs, Linux ALL contain hidden virus code...Trust me, I've used all of them and long enough to know.

Tips: On some of the systems, it's only the fault of the browser, and on others it's the fault of the whole **** operating system

Macs will be pretty much always free on "Windows issues", the will of course have "MAC Issues" instead.

There are viruses that "target" MACs, it's just that they don't make "the headlines" simply because MACs are not as prevalent in the offices and factories of the world.

The percentage of MACs is very less than that of Windows OS. So the hackers are targeting the Microsoft not Apple.

Mac is gaining popularity, but they still have a small percentage in the market... Think like a "@$$hole hacker". They want their viruses to reach as many people as possible without it getting removed and they generally don't like Windows. Why would I want to effect less than 7% of the market? Not a good chance to infect people.

Thus I'd attack Windows. Contains the majority of users and has the most uneducated users. Linux/Mac users are generally more educated. This isn't proven by any means, but at least they know what an operating system is. If your Mac/Linux box has a virus it's because your not liked or you are surfing sites that you shouldn't be.

Anyways, even though your not in too much danger on a Mac you should still have anti-virus software. I use "IAntiVirus". I've never got a virus on this machine yet and hopefully won't ever.

...Which begs this question...

Why use Microsoft products in the office? Well at least while online? If there is 'open internet' in the office, there might as well be 'bugs on the table, or shall I say desktop'

It can't possibly be that hard to out smart some pre-teens with a bit of scripting knowledge...Or can it?

Am I going to far out on a limb with this or what?

Viruses don't differentiate whether it is Mac or Windows. Both are vulnerable. Hackers target windows because of its popularity...

1.) I have to reboot my work PC which is backed up by a helpdesk team, and god knows how many million pounds of backend firewalls, virus checkers etc at least once per day if not 3 times and I run nothing that might remotely be classed as unsafe on it.
2.) Run 3 macs at home - reboot only for software updates, never with virus/windows type problems.
3.) Macs cost more but personally I like the hassle free life
Cheers

Its hassle free and you can have a built-in virus software.. every month or every other month they have an updated software thats also free..
