Now i am using the operating system Windows XP. I strongly thinnk changing my operating system to Windows 7.My friend said that it offers more features than windows XP. What is your opinion?

I have been using windows XP and linux, i use windows most of the time and every once in a while i will use linux to try and get the hang of it.

I found xp the best among all. Its really user friendly, secure and easy to handle.

Just like everyone, I also use Windows XP. The best about this OS is that it supports all kinds of ANti Virus, Utilities, Drivers etc.

I'm using XP but I wanted to learn how to use linux but I don't know if my computer is capable for linux.

Linux handles quite well on many of the new computers -- that said, you definitely shouldn't have any problems with linux on older systems. Linux is really good on older hardware but over the last few years (from what I was told, and from experience) linux has updated their hardware detection system quite well. I even have my linksys hardware running on my linux box (linksys hardware didn't work quite well in the earlier days of linux)...I do however still have a problem with my laptop camera in linux, I had it working once before but it was a pain to get, since then I did without the cam. Who cares.

Btw, Linux is not just known for it's excellent command line abilities, now most distros have a graphical user interface. Fear not the power of linux, harness it, and you shall prosper!

Always stick to windows XP

I'm also using windows XP but have heard lot of good things about windows 7 considering to switch to windows 7.

I use windows XP. Although there are new released OS like windows 7 and Vista I will stick to XP. Less memory consumption and easy to use.

benedict65, you may be surprised, but Windows7 works so much faster than XP (at least on new computers)

And on some earlier ones where XP performed like a three legged pig Windows 7 is more responsive.

I'm still using XP version 2002 Because purchasing a windows 7 here in my country is too expensive..

im using fedora linux. if youre using windows 98/2000/xp, then sure your computer is capable of linux. depending to what kind or distribution of linux you'll use. i recommend puppy linux or ubuntu if youre used to pointing and clicking.
