hi, i just ordered a dvd burner for my notebook but it runs on a Y usb cable which will take up 2 ports on my notebook. and i cant do that the way its set up, so i decided to purchase a 4 port usb hub to plug into one usb port on my notebook, and plug the 2 DVD burner Y cable ports into that. will that work or will it not draw enough power from the notebook? unfortunately, this burner runs off the pc power not on its own power. any help greatly appreciated. thanks. derek

The "Y" cable is to split the power over two posts BTW.

If you have a powered HUB then it should be ok, but from a passive hub you will be drawing power for the hub AND the burner from one port.
