I think I have asked this same question around a year ago but I was lead off on many tangents which did nothing.

I really need to get this laptop working, here is the error code.

---------------------

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check that you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adaptors.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safemode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x806ED134, 0xF8994670, 0x00000000)

Beginning Dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assisstance.

END OF ERROR MSG

----------------

So if anyone could help that would be great as I'd like to get this laptop running again.

Thanks, Ash~

Ok well if i delete the display driver the conmputer works fine just had it on for around two hours with no BSOD. But once they update themselves and I reboot again i get the BSOD. Where can I find newer drivers for:

ATI Mobility Radeon 9700

As the current one is 2004, if there are not any newer ones how can i find a back dated one or is there any other way to fix this?

Ash~

Have you tried the ATI web site? That's the place to start and you should be able to get older versions too.

Hello ! Just Do the one Thing... This is Hardware Interpretation. So Pull Out RAM From Motherboard. And Run The System Once. Then Turnoff you System and PUT Back RAM Again.

Isn't there more to the error message than what you posted? Usually it will reference a particular file even, especially when I've encountered issues w/video cards. If you are seeing more to the error, post that as well please, and we can help further. And if that RAM solution works, let me know, but I'd be shocked if it did.
