I want you members to please tell me the things to consider before buying a laptop computer.

Screen size, memory, processor and the purpose of buying one. Are you using it for graphics, playing games, or just plain browsing?

Price could play a part....how much do you want to spend?

Ram , memory, processor, screen size, price are some points to be considered before buying a laptop.

RAM (random access memory),memory, Screen size, design, company, purpose of buying and many other factors really matters in buying a laptop. If you are buying a laptop for playing games then you don't need to spend more money but if you are buying it for some business purpose then you should buy a good one.

Well, before buying a laptop you should consider only two thing and they are my budget and my purpose. The laptop which falls in this category is the best one for you and then you can search some more laptops of that type.
Anyway, screen size, RAM, memory and many other things also matters at the time of buying a laptop.

I would say processor, screen size, battery life, operating system, RAM, price, etc. etc. I'd also do a quick search on the laptop you want to buy first so you can be sure its for you.

Display Size, Processing Speed, RAM, HDD, Additonal Features and Battery Backup Level..

Your personal needs.
You need to find one laptop that can just suit your needs.
For example, if you need one product to play web games, then you should choose one with high quality; But if you just need one to surf the Internet, most produts will meet your needs.
Of course, the price is also a factor you need to consider!

I'd say that first of all you need to know how much are you willing to pay for the best laptop that fits your needs...Many people make the mistake of shopping for a computer or laptop by looking at price alone, only to be disappointed by the inability to run all their software. The best approach is to shop with both cost and purpose in mind so you get a computer that will accommodate your needs without busting your budget.

number 1 should be the Battery life.

know the budget, laptop specs, warranty and the store where you would like to buy it..

In addition to that, also consider where you can buy laptops in less cost but quality.

so many type and configuration of laptop nowdays...my opinion is...just ensure any type or brand u plan to buy will value for your money..and within your budget..hihi

right usually, It varies in Memory capacity. Choose what's fit to your budget, usage and brand.

I'd personally buy a laptop magazine and find out which ones best for your budget.

Laptops are sold using a few numbers, hhd size, ram size, cpu etc.. and yet a laptop that should be fast is often dog slow because the ram, hdd and motherboard are low end items.

The same applies to pre-made desktops as well though..

Yup I agree to this. You should should look for a laptop that has a good battery life, second would be the warranty and third the support for the product.

Video card may be. I purchased a laptop not knowing the details about the video card and now I can't play any games even at medium graphics. So just in case you are going to play games, get a laptop with a good video card.

It depends what you want to do on your laptop, for games and graphic intensive applications you should consider better graphic chipset ie ATI / Nvidia with dedicated memory. Processor, Ram, HDD, screen size and quality is also important.
