3.6.9 is the current and I see no difference from the past versions when it comes to speed. I guess there will be no relative change whenever version 4 is out.

I has always been a loyal user of FF, recently replaced the FF3.5 by FF4.0, i feel the page load is faster.
The same test, Firefox 4.0 Beta3 RC uses the time 11643 ms, compared to the previous version of Firefox 3.5 in 13148 ms ,it has improved significantly.
Firefox 4.0 can be described a director of public companies:
Crystal new skin,
Tag a key top,
Win7 taskbar preview
New version of the Extension Manager
Read tab
HTML5 support
Faster Javascript
Plug-independent processes
Page load faster

I think the new Firefox is much faster in processing new programs, but compatibility with other browsers and network capacity, and therefore can not be excluded from the safety performance and compatibility.
