Someone told me the other day that my website looked odd on IE7 and I thought to myself, why the hell are you using IE7?!

Does anyone actually use IE anymore? I thought it was dead! haha.

Have not checked stats lately....but last time I looked ...many people still do...

You can do a Google search and get accurate numbers.....

A lot of people use that. I think if you do some search you will be able to find some actual statistics.

I use IE a lot not as much as Firefox, and i have no problems with IE and i never really have.

i replaced my IE with Google chrome. i don't use ie that often.

there still lots who's using IE browser..so if i were you, make sure your website appear good in any browser..

The question was, "does anyone still use IE anymore," doesn't matter whether it's tech or general, IE is still being used.

I would imagine IE is mostly used as most packaged computers come w/ it installed and people don't know there's anything else. I know i'm always downloading chrome or zilla onto family/friends computers whenever I see them using IE or safari.

Bout 1/2 of web users "still on IE". F- em.

I haven't used ie for a year or so, so this week I used it for a couple of days, I really couldn't imagine bothering to use it again, seems so clunky, slow and crap compared to firefox and opera.

yeah lots of people use it now as their secondary browser and remember one thing that pioneers can never be thrown out ... like IE is pioneer and people are still using it altough we have firefox n chrome which are fastest n even better

I disagree, pool master. Firefox is no longer "fast". It's become a heaping pile of memory-leaking garbage, in my opinion.

IE was NOT a "pioneer", Netscape was the "pioneer" in the browser market

Well i only use ie for testing my sites only, because sadly there are still users who browse with ie.

Don't mention things like that. I remember buying a copy of Netscape Communicator 3 on a new fangled CD, just so I could get my hands on the HTML editor!

personally I dnt use IE anymore. but if you look at stats you will be surprised that still most people access internet through IE. its because IE comes built in with windows. so you have to think about IE while you design your site.

Gotta disagree with that. IE pioneered many things - for example:

The <iframe> was pioneered by IE.

ActiveX, which is no longer in use, was an amazingly powerful platform pioneered by IE, though unfortunately prone to attacks / virus entry points for unknowledgeable users.

CSS3 effects, such as drop-shadows and opacity, were first pioneered by IE with "filters" (though W3C changed the way they work, obviously).

The Bookmarks Sidebar, an extremely useful feature, was pioneered by IE, and yet to be implemented by any competitor.

There are many more things that IE has pioneered. I don't love the browser, but I think we have to give Microsoft credit where they've succeeded.
