I just installed a new PSU and when I turn my computer on I get the following message:

Reboot and select proper boot device and press a key

What could be the problem? I checked all the connections and everything seems to be firmly in place.

It is don't sound you have any problem with the PSU, if you used to boot from hard drive then make sure hard drive connectors properly connected to motherboard and PSU. you can check it in your motherboard BIO if hard drive work, also, at motherboard BIO you can change the boot order.

I checked in the bio and it's saying the hard drive isn't installed. I have the connector that goes from the PSU to the hard drived pushed in as much as possible. The reason I replaced the PSU was because it went bad and made a loud POP noise right when that happened. Do you think it may have taken the hard drive or something else with it? I'm pretty sure it was a Bestec PSU and some people are saying they take the mobo (whatever that is) with it when they give out.

It is entirely possible that the dying PSU took out the hard drive. Can you try plugging the hard drive into another machine to see if it comes up?

Well, I don't have the Windows 7 disc which means my OS got taken with it as well. I think I'm better off just getting an entirely new system. I'm never buying another emachines computer ever again.

Your BIOS probably needs resetting, it may have been corrupted when the PSU failed.

Did you not create the restore and OS discs when your system was first started?

Just as long as you have the product key that came with the machine, you can download a ISO image and use that to install.
