Just a warning: The second this turns into an IE or FF bash, it's going to be closed. It's insane how something as small as browser preference can turn into a flame war, lets not have it happen this time.

I really like FF, but I make sure all my sites look good in IE, as it's still the king in terms of use.

how come IE and FF are the only two options?
Most of the time im using konq, But i would be more likely to use FF over IE, because IE doesn't have a linux port

So im going to vote "FF all the way", because it's the most fitting answer.

i like both, but IE has more advanced features which aren't compatible in FF. I always make sure all my pages work on IE, and sometimes FF (because IE has about 90% of the browser market.)

You should make your sites work in all current browsers. If you only sometimes support FF, for example, you immediately make your site unusable for people on Mac OS, Linux etc. A person that really wanted to view an IE site on Windows could just temporarily switch, but users of other platforms don't have that option.

90% is a large share of the market (though I believe it's down to about 80% these days given the popularity of Firefox and Opera the last year or so), the last 10% is a lot of people when you think about how many people actually use the internet. Also note that browser usage can be different in other parts of the world and the type of site matters (tech-savvy people are more likely to use an alternate browser then those who don't even know what a browser is).

Anyway, just wanted to suggest webmasters design for the highest possible usability regardless of browser preference. Unless you are in an absolutely controlled environment (like an office intranet or something), then you shouldn't just leave the minority out to rot

yeah, but i always try to use code that is cross browser compatible. Therefore i know that it will work with the other browsers, and i also check my sites with Opera. Actually recently i had to change a page i was working on b/c it didn't work with opera. And the site statics show that about 98.9% of the people who visited use IE, so...

I hope eventually sites cater for linux users the way they have started to cater for FF users. Specifically the BBC website, It's practically impossible to navigate the site on linux.. They just don't get it, We don't have windows media player!!

Hopefully the FF craze will remind (inform) webmasters of big sites that not everything is microsoft, or even microsoft comapatible..

Google have the right idea (though i don't like bigging up goog) by embeding thier videos in a flash player.

Woah woah hold up a second there. No browser bashing, remember?
That's just your opinnion, but you're stating it like it's fact. IE is a very safe browser, I've used it for years without a single problem. As for speed, I haven't noticed a difference myself. And as for better, that's just an oppinion, and in my oppinion, IE is way better. But I'm not calling Firefox 'trash'. Comments like that are not constructive and don't contribute anything to the discussion, so don't do it, or Chroder will lock the thread.

I'll use FF to browse and what have you, and I'll use IE to check CSS and look at porn since I can clear the cookies without affecting my FF pages.
