ok, so derangedtaco.com. that is derangedtaco.3rdimension.co.uk. but when you go to derangedtaco.com/blog, it shows up as derangedtaco.3rdimension.co.uk/blog in the address bar. why is this? (it's only with the wordpress blog and my coppermine picture gallery where this happens, i think)

is it a cpanel or domain problem? any help would be appreciated

Is it a forward? If so is it masked?

yup... you've got me. i have no friggin clue. that's probably the problem

this is all i did:
1. change the domain nameservers to the proper ones provided by my host
2. parked derangedtaco.com in cpanel
3. uploaded my files to the www folder.
4. made an addon domain for derangedtaco.com/papapotato, for papapotato.com

btw, did i mention: we just switched hosts. it worked fine before. but i can't remember what i did before.......

edit: umm, i could give you cpanel access if you want... but i'd prefer if you could just tell me how to do it.. thanx!!

just something i noticed.. when you go to derangedtaco.com/blog, and http://www.derangedtaco.com/blog, it'll switch to http://derangedtaco.3rdimension.co.uk/blog in the address bar, but once there, if you click on the header, it will reload showing http://www.derangedtaco.com/blog.... WTF!!!!

your links are missing the trailing slash. So when the server does the redirect to the correct URL it uses the base url of the parent host.

http://www.derangedtaco.com/blog/ with slash

http://www.derangedtaco.com/blog without

I changed the link URLs on the site, but still, some people might just quickly type in derangedtaco.com/forum in the address bar... in which case it'd change to the old domain name thingy. no way to fix this?

possibly it depends on how the redirect from sub.hostname.tld to yourhostname.tld is being done.

The best way of course would be to have your own hosting setup rather than a subdomain of someone else.

well... i'm sort of a n00b with cpanel.... when i got my host, i got the subdomain derangedtaco.3rdimension.co.uk. cpanel was derangedtaco.3rdimension.co.uk/cpanel.

i dunno how it redirects........

got an idea. maybe its the subdomain thats bugging out.
