Hey guys, i was just how many people have downloaded and installed windows media player 11, i think it's very stylish... reminds me of vista

some of my friends have had problems with using it such being unable to rip cds etc, but i havn't experienced any problems... have any of you?

i'm curious to know if anyone is using it or... if you use an alternative..

been using the version for about 2-3 weeks now...
its cool.. and i think the sound output quality was better, or maybe its just me
althogh i did have a skin issue with it... i tried to load a skin and it crashed.. worked perfectly with WMP 10 though..

i havn't tried out any skins yet, will do laters tho.. i just really like the new standard 'black n blue' colour with it as default..

I use Totem Xine and Gmplayer for movies and amarok for my mp3's (ok the kids use it for their mp3's) (all open source of course).

I have fiddled with Media player but I havesome issues with playing DVD's and or mpegs and avi's which i simply dont run into under Linux (which is why the kids use Linux "apart from virus headaches").

Of course Linux does not come with codecs etc but once you install them it all woirks fine. And I though windows was supposed to be outa the box kind of.

I've noticed a better quality of sound, and it looks funky

i like the look of it on the taskbar..

to do this for those of you that don't know how, right a click a blank space along your taskbar --> click toolbars --> then click windows media player, a mini player then comes on your taskbar, very cool

This also works on older versions of media player, 11,10,9, etc..

WMP 11 works fine for my use here...didn't try to do anything different like add a new skin yet though.

the only thing my WMP needs is play playlists of over 10,000 songs large
