Hey there gang - here is a question for you.

I was trying to download Netscape 8.1 and it kept crashing, fatal error and closing. I then uninstalled and tried to download Netscape 8.04. Same thing.

So my question is: a) which version of Netscape does this not happen with, and b) is it really worth my time to bother? My sites work in Firefox and IE, and I'm trying to get Netscape on my machine to make sure they work there as well. Does anyone even still use Netscape, or have the former Netscape people all migrated to Firefox? Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't used netscape in awhile. Also, this would be hard to troubleshoot seeing as how there are quite a few different things that could be making the install error out.

I would try searching for it on google.com and see what you can come up with. Maybe others faced the same issue and have figured it out already.

Goodluck!

Don't know what could be making a Netscape install crash on your computer but....

I commend you on wanting to test your website on multiple browsers - - Yes, definately test on Netscape - - It is one of the worst offenders in my personal experience....

Multiple times I have had my websites 'break' with a new release of Netscape (all the other browsers seem to be a lot more stable)...

I not only test on every browser I can get my hands on but also on multiple releases of each browser. You can go here to get back level Netscape releases: Netscape Browser Archive - SillyDog701
