Okay, I moved house

Now the computer won't boot. I thought maybe it was a monitor issue, but tried another one to no avail. Tried removing the GeForce2 Card and using the OnBoard Graphics instead (not sure if this would have needed changing in the BIOS Settings mind) but to no avail.

Here endeth my limited computer hardware knowledge. It turns on, fans start spinning etc. etc. BUT i don't get one of those end of boot // start of the Windows Screen system beeps that I used to love so much.

ANY help would be SOO appreciated as I'm okay when it's on, but TERRIBLE when it isn't. Please help me

Was the memories stick plugged in correctly? Try it with another memory stick if you have one. 90% of these kind of problems are memory/cpu problems.
Good Luck.

does it make a difference if the CPU light that generally means "i'm processing something so i'm flashing orange" stops flashing? i duno if that means CPU or Memory...i tried reseating the RAM...and this might sound like a newbie question...which it is...but does it matter which way round it's put in? like can it be upside down? obviously it's pins down...but other than that does it matter? it all worked before anyways so that shouldn't change anything.

when i opened it, the graphics card wasn't seated properly. could this have caused a CPU // Memory problem because all the data wasn't getting thru?

so many questions!!

yes make sure your graphic cards is sitting tight. You are right about the memory stick, the pin side is down. on the memory sticks, it should have a slot that seperates the pins. There is usually a side with more pins, and a side with less pins. make sure the side with more pins matches the side with more pin slots on the place where you plug the memories into. Also could you get into bios, or see a boot screen at all? or is there just a blank screen when you turn it on, and the computer beeps?

blank screen. monitor doesn't "register" from orange to green and come on. there's no beeps at all.

graphics card should be seated right now. RAM should be seated okay as well...i'm hoping it's not a fried processor. that WOULD be a shame
