Comodo Personal Firewall is the best software I have used till date. This firewall works great. On several instances I have found it on the job by giving me the details of the attempts by different software to send data through other channels.

Screen Hunter is a great piece of free software which I use often. It allows you to select a certain area of a screen or image and saves it for you as a separate image

i wont bother listing them but what about all the differant IM's softwares... and stuff like ubuntu and server stuff like the php, mysql etc stuff
