that IP address is an local area network Internal IP Address, you need to setup your FTP client with IP provided by your ISP, then make sure that you have allow conections set up on your firewall if you are running one

Cheack your firewall!

when i set up XAMPP i spent ages trying to think y it couldnt be reached outside my network untill someone said something and i twigged. i use mcafee and it was just a case of ticking which ports you want open, also (if u have one) check if you have port forwarding on ur router/gateway.

so firstly make sure needed ports are open in firwall (if u have windows make sure that is DISabled too it blocks loads of stuff u need.) also make sure you have port forwarding set up for http, ftp, and https and what ever else you want open (ie if you want your computer/server to do mail etc...)

hope this helps...

(i sat talking to 5 bloody linksys people try to figure out what was wrong and they were all thick... was taring my hair out by the end)

Dan

My ip address is dynamic - this is dealt with by using a dynamic dns service, updated directly by my router.

Traffic on port 21 is forwarded to my computer absolutly fine as I have a realy bad ftp server program working correctly.

I want to use filezilla as it is more costomiseable and meets my needs much better (by being allowed more than 3 user accounts)

How do i set up filezilla? - step by step guides if possible please!

LISTEN, IT IS PHUCK ALL TO DO WITH IP ADDRESS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

I know this because I have a different, simpler program. I want to use FileZilla as it is more complex and does what I want better.

All I want to do is configure FileZilla.
