Me my main one's I have to deal with are spyware so many people have it , I wish spyware companies one day would give up :P

Spyware, crapware and browser addons that install without pernission.

Until some laws are passed with harsh penalities and strict enforcement nothing is going to change.

Nothing really.. For the 3 years I have XP installed in it, everything is going great. I just make sure I have antivirus, antispyware, firewall, latest patches, defrag every month, legit software, upgrade ram and dont go to illegal sites

The only problem I have with my new PC (running XP64) is throwing my girlfriend off it when she's here.

The only problem I have with my old PC (running 98) is the dead power supply. Funny how machines don't work when the PSes die.

originalthechad, if you're looking for business, approach government agencies and see if you can get it 5-10 hours a week.

Once you're in, they're generally pretty easy to work for and the money's there.

My most common issue, all my computers suck. It's like 6 months in and my laptop was outdated, and after having played with the newer ones, now I always fell it.... sucks.

Yes I brought a laptop recently for work and already out dated but you get used to it is just IT industry :P

A Laptop and all I can say is I'm never gonna buy Toshiba again, too much trouble.

My only problem is similar.....my hubby complaining that I spend more time with my computer than I do with him , or when he decides he just has to have the latest gun, ammo, bow, arrow, rest, sight, etc and spends hours shopping online and won't give me back my computer so I can do more important things.

Right now, my laught is killing me. Dell? Even worse than Toshiba... I think my list probably goes from Apple the worst to Dell to Toshiba. But then again those are the only companies I have owned and will not purchase their crap again.

I brought 200 Dell laptops for my company had them 2 years no dramas. Depends on batch I suppose

I'm on an IBM laptop now (on the road for various reasons.)

I've also used Dell, Apple/MAC, Toshiba, and Compaq laptops.

If I were to rank them on a scale of 1 to slightly over 1 but still crap, I'd pretty well put them all at 1. This one's not TOO bad, but it's only three weeks old.

Mind you, it's all pretty much the same stuff only with different brand names. I liked the Dell a little better just based on aesthetics and that the trial software installed took me less time to get rid of. The MAC was just a writeoff...a-chord, bomb icon, and we're back to typical MAC issues with me. The Toshibas...inh. The other IBMs I've used...inh.

I usually have some issue so i have to format and reinatall xp pro at least once a year
a coupleof months ago i got a level ten trojen! caused me SO MUCH HELL i spent a week scanning it with everything i could most of the software deleted it but it reappeard! i even wehn in and deleted all regitry keys realted to it.

anyway i finally got a bit of software trojen remover and it got ride of it (after 20 removeals...) but by the time i had go rid of it my pc was so mentally batterd i cleard off what i could and formatted and reinatalled. windows. BUT when i did it instead of complate format i partitioned it and installed on the new oartion so i had two partions one of what was left of my old fiels and one the new one.

i eventually deletd the old partion but now i have 23gbs of "unallocated" space on my hdd and i dont no how i can add the unallocated space to the main partion.( anyone knows please pm me!)

also i have a k-world digital tv tuner (dvb-t 100) which i cant get to work when i try to open the main software i get access violation at blah with file ntdll.dll (any ideas PM ME!!! lol anyone installed this card before?..)

//edit with regards to what the thread is more about i generally dont like dells they are made for people who dont know the differance between the mother bourd and a ethernet card! and they type of people who when they get a error messgae they call a engener... or wait i no lets pay someon else £50 to install a ram stick... and the cases are so annouying!

I think as long as people sort of know what they are doing and know their way around the OS it is a little easier to take care of a computer.

Keeping everything backed up is still number one cause you never know when the hard disk will die!
