Hi all,
i hope someone can at least tell me why this keeps happening.

on my outlook express the pop3 mail server keeps changing to 127.0.0.1 everytime i restart my pc, so when i want to get my mail i have to change all my accounts back to mail.dansgalaxy.co.uk

this is also happening to my ntl accounts, but i have been told it doesnt do it to hotmail accounts.

does anyone have any idea why this happens it is very annouying.

The only thing I can think of is that you have a Spamkiller sort of program on your pc. If you do, then its possible that the changes made to your mailserver address are the ones by the program so it can check your mail for spam and deal with it accordingly.

At least, thats what happened when I used a antispam program. It got annoying so in the end i deactivated it.

Could also be a hijacker spyware

no it definatly isnt a hijacker or syware im clean... ;-) im a good boy i scan everyday and floss out the crap... - i have to the amount of viruses and crap i get from the net lol.

i think is prob spamkiller (mcafee) why would it change it to that becasue outlook cant get the emails untill i chane it back... it says couldnt find it etc in errors...
aargh stupid software...

Does you AV program scan incoming mail?

They use a trick to do that. For some part of the trick is pulling the mail into a pseudo mail handler on your local machine. Somehow Outhouse is getting confused.

i use mcafee spamkiller (which scans emails for spam) so i can understand what you mean but shouldnt it still work...

anyone know how to correct this?
