all i had to do was disable the RAID on mother board.
not reconise becasue was trying to set it up and not just use as normal...

hi,
got a 250GB Sata,
want it set up for storage....
Running a 40GB ide (pata) as master with OS(s) on and a 80GB ide (pata)slave for storag,
i now have a 250GB Sata drive which isnt appearing as a hard drive....
it seems to be under Other devices in device manager. and when i boot i ahve a thing asking about entering raid set up.
i have sata enable in bios.
and it isnt appearing in harddrive manager so what do i need to do, when i looked at the raid set up it showed the sata hard drive with two boxs and i could move it to the other with 2 dropdown boxes one had Mirroring/spanning/and some others and the other had optimum and 250k or somin like that, i think thats for when u have set up so the hdd auto backs it self up on another hard drive??
can someoen please help me and quick with how to do this. i want to be able to use my birthday present.
