Hello,

I need to transfer a folder from my computer to another. If I get caught and someone reads my flash drive then I will... Well I just don't want that to happen . So I started off by using the hidden attribute under folder properties but my flash drive seems to show hidden folders. How can I hide this? And even if possible password protect the folder or make it harder to access without the using the correct permissions?

Rar the files and set a password for the compressed rar file. Seems like that should do the trick.

But I think you need to download an archiver program like Winzip to actually view/unzip the archive. Is it possible to set a password for a zip so any computer could unzip it?

Yes it's possible. You can open any zip file with a password in any computer (assuming that you know the password)

With regards to your zip drive showing hidden files, you should check your folder options and see if the "show hidden files" options is on.

You can break the password on .rar archives. It is easily done. I suggest looking at other solutions. There are plently of programs out there on the net, which can be done in google. They usually have different methods of hiding the files etc as apose to using your solution of .rar password protection.

password protect it then hide it would be your best option. every flash drive has away of hiding files so why not check out the manufacturer's website to see if they have a way to do it if you cant get it to hide the files.
