Ubisoft, leading producer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment products worldwide, is familiar not only to video game gigs. The company has offices in 22 countries and sales in more than 55 countries around the globe. And one of most acclaimed development studio is situated in Montreal, Canada.

I have just came across an announcement in the press about the vast celebration of the 10th anniversary of Ubisoft Montreal starts today. Beside lots of general activities, there is a great opportunity for fans to see an exposition, participate in ateliers, etc. Probably they would get a snick pick of some of its projects in development. So if you are lucky to live/visit this Canadian city you have something special to do today. I believe it is a great reason for their 1700 employees (and for consumers as well) to celebrate its success.

In February you might have heard news about the company investment of an additional 295.6 million euros over the next six years with the goal of building up a team of 3,000 employees by 2013. Wow !!!! Huge money. Big team.
Hopefully all this will turn into something of superior value for us –consumers.

Those who live in Montreal can actively participate in the announced activities , but for others this is a chance to discuss our favorite Ubisoft’s products and try to foresee in what direction this company can go within the next 10 year-old spin. How do you see the future of Ubisoft?

Good for Montreal and good for Ubisoft. I had written an article on Google and Yahoo openning offices in Montreal and this just strengthens on what I had remarked on earlier - that Montreal is a city strong in Software engineering and developing and rich in tech-savvy people, but weak in getting these people together in the way that say Boston or San Francisco does. There are a few big tech companies here and with the arrival of the internet giants, I'd like to see more SEM conferences getting started and more of a centralization of the online marketing community here.
