A swipe file is a stash of fantastic headlines swiped from other writers. Sometimes you see a headline or a title and you think, "why didn't I think of that", keeping a record of all those great titles enable you to study what makes them work and hopefully replicate them in your own words. Don't attempt to plagerise as you just end up looking like a ****.
The point of the Swipe File is to train you to right killer titles. To suck people into reading the rest of your words and possibly tease them into an action, such as "add your email", "buy this now".
Knowing what headline works and what does not helps, so do your research and concentrate on snatching those titles that really work.
