I want to make a post, but I don't want it to be displayed on the main page, how do I do this?

ugly work around:

set the publication date prior to the articles that are currently showing on your homepage..

Alternatively, if appropriate, publish as a page instead of a post...

I can help you with this, but I need some more information. Does it need to be a post, or can it be a page? Why don't you want it to display on the front page? Do you even want it to display in your archives?

Will you have more posts like this that you don't want displayed on the homepage? If so, you might want to go with a custom WordPress query. If you would like, you can PM me and I might be able to point you in the right direction.
