Turn Blog into a Book

Anyone ever tried putting their articles into a book? Not an ebook but a real overpriced, Barnes and Noble, paper or hardback book. How did you go about it? Was getting it published tough? Any other thoughts?

It seems that getting published is easier these days, but is it worth it.

If you were going to turn your blog into a book, you'd probably be better off self-publishing. Test the waters with publishing on demand. Margins are lower, but you're not taking such a risk.

Then, if the demand is high, you can go ahead and order a large quantity of copies from a PDF file.

I know there was a plugin for wordpress that would automatically convert all your posts to PDF format, but I'm not sure what it was called and I can't find the link right now.

If you decide to publish as a book, let us know how it goes and how you did it.

Never tought of doing that.

Might be a good idea if you have a lot of content on a single subject.

And you can use CafePress.com or Lulu.com to sell your book.

Definitely not blog specific, but if you've got any desire to go 'under the hood', this article might be helpful.

Your mileage may vary, natch.

There's also BlogBinders, but I haven't personally looked into it.

The author of Broken Kode explored the idea of getting his archives turned into a book (brokenkode.com/archives/category/in-stock/getting-published/ - I'd have linked it proper but I don't have enough posts yet). I don't think it was ever mass-produced, but there might be some info in there that'll help you

Bookmarked
That'd be a nice way to write a fictional book, make a complete fictional blog and it'd all be in realtime.
