At some point in the future I was considering a possible series of ebooks or a few specialist ebooks.

I see one member here is currently writing an ebook - and I am just wondering on the community side of things,

Which software is your preferred ebook software?

Which are ones to avoid?

Which offers a good balance between value for money and features?

What do you mean by "ebook software"?

You can create an ebook with OpenOffice.

I dont know how to create an ebook, and right now it is not something I am looking to do - but in the future, it may be something I pursue.

I was wondering if there was any software that makes the process just like writing and inserting images as you would do on a CMS etc.

I never used Open Office, I normally use notepad or a CMS when doing anything for my website and as such, do not know about creating an ebook.

So OpenOffice would be able to achieve this - and it is straightforward enough to achieve?

OpenOffice is just like Microsoft Office. Almost the same the use but it's free. And you can export in .pdf format with no problem.

If you know how to use Office, you won't have any problem at all creating an ebook with OOo (OpenOffice.org).

Try it. www.openoffice.org

Thanks, I will look into it.

As I said, it is something I was considering for the future, and this forum seemed an ideal place to ask about it.

Thanks.
