I'm subscribed to forums, newsletters, and feeds. But some sites just seem to be able to find that story in some obscure newspaper site on my topics.

How do you guys find content?

Thanks! Tagjag seems awefully slow, but I made a bunch of Google Alerts. I can't wait to see how these are.

I'll have to check out google alerts. I hate to put up my content after my competition. Tagjag is either really really slow, or doesn't have any feeds with "indie" in them.

I scan newspapers and media distributions around the world for topics I'm interested in for starters.

I also bookmark distribution points, such as the press center for a business.

Nothing easier, Internet is full of good content, the only thing you have to do is summarize. For example if you go to a blog and you find good content for you, you read it a couple of times and apply it to your situation, you write it with your own words to your circumstances. Or you go to Public Domains and do the same.

It all depends on what kind of content your are looking for though, right? Knowing how to search is as important as knowing where to search.

Correct knowing how to search is just as important as knowing where to search..I can say, though, that I have helped many people with searches for many things.. Using the right word or phrase is the secret and the right search engine

there are alot of good pdf you can find everywhere with great content....store them on your hard drive and refer to them. There is secret to searching for these but you only have to go to yahoo or google to find out.

but i like the comment above use the word free as in if you were seraching for baby care tips......search on things like "free baby card pdf reprort" try different combination and youll be suprised what you can find.....there is so much good content out there.....you can find anything you want on the internet trust me

Yes free content is available, but guys have you considered what happens when 500 websites use the same free content. Most prospects visit a number of websites before deciding to become a customer of one, and the same content in many websites doesn't create a good impression.

Also the websites might be penalized by the search engines for using 'duplicate content'.

Skip the first few pages when doing a search, when you go further you get the site that is working hard to move up on PR and they often have more unique content for inspiration and research, because they are trying harder. Also less people are accessing their information. Most people are lazy and take info from the first 1-5 pages on a search.

articles and good forum posts will get you off to a flying start.

you could also use the public domain...although its very very outdated you could use some of their info and put a new spin on things that might give you some hints.... although there are already some magical one in here to keep you busy for 5 years or so.

go get em
