When writing articles do you use your own name?

Do you even list a written by name in the article?

Thanks.

Turbo, when I write an article, I use a pen name. Most article directories allow you to use a pen name (check the rules before doing so though) when submitting an article.

If you are new to article writing/article marketing, using a pen name can be very beneficial in the long run. When you are just getting started, your articles may not be up to par, and I personally would not want something that is not perfect to have my name on it. I don't want a poorly written article spread all over the Internet with my real name on it!

If you use a pen name, you have plenty of opportunity to perfect your article writing skills. If you create a poor article, using a pen name protects your reputation in the long run.

Once you get better at article writing/marketing, you can start to use your real name. That way, your name gets out there as a respectable source. For instance... Jimmy D. Brown has used pen names in the past. He said it is perfectly fine to do- but once he seen that his article writing is very effective, he began to use his real name. Now, if you do a search on google for his name, you will see thousands of post's about him!

I hope that I helped you out a little bit. If you have any questions concerning this topic, Id be happy to help you out.

I usually use my real name whenever I've submitted articles to article directories and stuff.

Personally I switch off. It merely depends where i'm at.. And what i'm doing. Sometimes an alias, sometimes my real name.

When I was getting started I started using a nick name, but I realize that using my real name is much better.

Now, I use my real name when I submit articles as well as in many other places.

It builds your credibility and reputation

Thanks,
PV Reymond

I think I will use a nickname.

It will be more suitable to cope with the title, especially for your first ebook.

I think a good rule of thumb is to use your real name for things you're proud to show people and "accomplishments" you wouldn't mind putting on your resume.

I personally use the same very unique and distinguishable "nickname" for everything I write that doesn't apply to the rule of thumb so I can quickly search google with this nickname and see where my articles end up.

I would use a pen name on anything that you think will be sold in the future.

Eben Pagan wisely picked David DeAngleo for his ebooks on realationships. He could sell the whole thing at any point and no one would need to know.

I also use a pen name to prevent future employers from googling my name and finding a lot of stuff that I wrote.

I agree with many of you that say they switch off. When I started writing I used my nickname or an alias. Once I got the hang of writing and writing well. I decided to use my real name. It seems like it gives it more credibility.

If you want to establish a brand to your name. Then it pays to use your real name. Like if you want to be known on specific niche. Also, others don't like using real name to write articles for a variety of topics in order not to be branded as "jack of all trades, master of none" thing. Now, for other people they use pen names especially when they are hired to write articles for clients. Just my 2 cents.
