Keeping posts relevant is one of the most important things when building visitors for a blog. However, you can make your blog topic wide enough to cover a lot of different topics.

You can also start a second blog for items that don't fit into your main blog's topic.

The same is true of forum threads. Keeping content topical helps build your reputation on the forum.

Comments on others blog posts should be relevant either to the post itself or the blog in general.
