So lets say you have just booked up your holiday, what searches do you do on the net related to your upcoming holiday, ie exchange rates and weather must be pretty much the first, but what other things would you search for before the day arrives that you leave for your vacation?
Restaurants? Bars? Tourist attractions? Nightlife? Photos?

Now now Chris, no need to disrupt my thread, plenty of others out there you can disrupt, anyway Chris, I take it that on the odd occasion you go on vacation, so what do you check? For photos of the caravans on Skegness perhaps

Thanks for the great laugh!

What one searches for before going on a vacation depends on their interests and reason for going. A business person might be looking for hotels, a politician might be looking for special bathrooms, and a few visiting Thailand are looking for something just as personal.

Find your target market and survey them to more accurately target the correct market.

I used to treat discovering things like
Quote:

As part of the holiday

Restaurants? Ask the local people (hotel staff, shop keepers etc) where they like to eat. I'd rather try the local food not the "local food for Tourists" or "fish & chips" Morroccan style.

And nothing is ever going to beat (for me anyway) missing a trip to Disney World in favour of a 3am drive to Cocoa Beach to watch a 7am launch of the space shuttle.
Bars? Try down a couple of side streets and go to the ones that don't feature in the brochures.
Part of the experience is discovering things and places.

In that case I'm definitely NOT a typical Brit.

AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH "You went to Italy to find bacon bloody sandwiches"!!!!!????????

You may have well have gone to Morecambe!

Thats most likely tomorrow, its quite safe though as long as your not wearing red, or yellow, or blue, or green, probably best to give Thailand a miss this weekend I suppose

i am planning to go on a family holiday this summer to a rain forest in india which is panchgani and mahabaleshwar.
i have already booked air tickets and hotels.
and also a bus for sight seeing.
the climate there is always moderate and if it rains its more better. rains enhance the beauty of the place.

I basically just check the weather, I enjoy finding nice places to eat and drink when i'm there. Talking to the locals usually helps I think.

Actually language or language pages is something I have been thinking about, already have a load for Thai, including video tutorials, should really do some for Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia next.
