Should I list celebrities on my website?

Hi there,

I am new here and this is my first time on a forum.

I have a question about listing names, especially celebrity names, on my website.

My friend is building a website for me, so I can post trailers to some documentaries I just finished up (I wrote, produced and directed them on a shoestring budget). This is my first website, and it will describe my finished films and what my new projects are...plus talking about my 20 year history in the film industry. Almost like an informal resume.

I have been a script supervisor for many years on big film and tv projects. I've worked with a lot of celebrities over the years, and want to show the highly professional level I've worked at by listing their names on my new website, as I'm trying to get my work out there, and am also trying to raise funds to shoot a new documentary.

Is it okay to list about 20 or more celebrity names that I've worked with?
Could there be any kind of negative repercussion? It's legal, right? Does it seem like a normal thing to do...as if my website is my resume?

I really would not be able to get permission from all these celebrities, but I truly worked with them and have my Call Sheets to prove it. But as a crew member, I would not have access to contact them for permission...plus I wouldn't really want to. I just want to list their names, as if listing jobs I've had....the names say it all....highly professional work experience in the film industry.

I am worried about making mistakes....I want to be as professional as possible. And I certainly don't want any problems from this.

What do you think???

As Oscar Wilde said:
"The only thing worse than being talked about, is NOT being talked about"

We host and manage several sites for artistes and agencies and nobody has yet demanded that their name should be taken down from any where.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your support and advice. I feel better about simply saying I've worked with these 20-30 celebrities...I am not making any statements about them.
Thanks much!
Mary

I assume that just listing names would be fine, as long as you don't list images because you may run into copyright issues with that.

A simple list seems harmless to me. Go ahead and do it.

Should not be a problem simply stating that you worked with them....or went fishing ...
I don't mind mentioning that I had dinner with George Bush....that is legal....

It is actually no big deal on including celebs names on your website as what chrishirst says celebrities loved to be talk about even though a positive one or a negative one.

It will be good to you're site because it can attract people to view you're site when they see celebrities on it.

Instead of listing a celebrities on your site I would suggest you consider lot other things. The most important thing to consider is content of site. Listing the name won't generate traffic.

There's no harm in doing so, it'll only boost your reputation!

Consider the number of people that search for celebs versus "good content"....

Plus the OP is seeking demonstrating their expertise and a relationship with famous people...
