Considering a section to my website where users can sign up to be a writer for a fee. They will be allowed to include affiliate links in their articles.

All articles will have to be approved.

Is this something people may be interested in?

Well, I also think this is a good idea, but I think it should be free at the early stage, because a new website needs time to get support. When the traffic of your site reaches a certaim amount, then you can charge. or just between free and charge, ok, I mean people could submit article to your site for free, but if they want some featured services(eg. add link to their article), you can charge for these services.

Hi watchitmister,

Sounds like a good idea. Obviously it depends on your niche and your traffic. If your traffic is still low, I'd suggest making it free for starters until the ball gets rolling. Get a few people writing for you regularly, and when traffic builds you can introduce a paid system. (Again, that's assuming you don't already have the necessary traffic. If you already have plenty, go ahead and start with a paid system.)

I think the site would have to be very popular and/or in a very influential niche in order to get people to pay to post an article. With all the free services out there, not to mention all the blogs, the only people you're going to attract are those pimping other websites or hoping to do well with affiliate links.

Yes people will be interested on this.But you must be aware of spam as you will give the link adding opportunity to your writers.

I would never write an article for a website without expecting some kind of reward. If the website was set-up as a free/paid service you would still need to give your non-paying users some kind of incentive to write articles for the website.

To the OP: It's a great way of getting content for your website but I'm not sure about the quality of the articles. I would also recommend using some kind of anti-plagiarism software to make sure the articles are original because you might be liable for any copyright infringement. Just something to consider.
