Anyone else take part in a 30 day trial? If so how did it go?

Hi BamaStangGuy,
I would appreciate if you shared the experience with us. How does it work from a webmaster's view, what are the results etc.
Thanks.

I had used them last year sometime - but they were having server issues at the time, which caused all of our pages to load slow so we had to pull them off...

Is this more of a trial on your part or on their part?

Hey,

I'd recommend checking out Kontera instead of IntelliTXT. They offer far better customer support and also offer a higher profit share percentage (60% vs. 50%).

Check out my review of them: Do In-Text Ads Really Work?

How's it going so far? My concern is that the nuisance factor with my visitors would outweigh the increased revenue, but it might depend on the audience.

I've seen IntelliTXT on a lot of tech-related websites such as neowin.net (which gets tons of traffic). Maybe techie audiences are more inclined to accept them (and not be confused by them)?

Is there any way to turn them off for specific people? Maybe registered members or a specific usergroup could turn them off.

They've been contacting me about running their stuff on BigBlueBall, so I'm very interested to hear how it's working out for you.

My biggest prblem with Kontera and IntelliTXT is that if their ervers are ever slow your load times with increase exponentially.

Mine haven't. It's the last thing that loads on my page.

While I find the pop up thingys so annoying, I do think that there is a happy medium.

For example, we just started using the vB Geek replacment script on our forum. We have entered model names (and their aliases), and these are now automatically linked to a merchant's site (we are paid per click through to the merchant site through an affiliate partnership).

The benefits are two-fold - first, we are generating revenue, but more importantly, this is useful for our members since not everyone knows the specs of every laptop out there, so now this information is quickly accessible without anything popping up or screaming 'AD!" (We just have this running in one section right now for testing.) We plan to offer this privately to laptop resellers as well.

Let us know how it goes for you. I would be most interested in member reaction since I know you are pretty tight with your members. How has it been going so far?

I haven't had any complaints but I only run it for guests so that is why.
