:helpsmilie: Ok, I have these results on a "niche" my wife would like to try. Can you tell me your thoughts about these numbers. Are these good, is this something you would go after? Would you do one site with different pages for each of these or different sites for each (that is, if this is a winner)
This info is from nichebot. I replaced the keyphrase so referr to it by the number please.

I hope someone responds to your thread , I would be interested in what people say also. I have only been on nichebot a few times and can't offer you much advice :/
Doesnt look like many of them get a huge amount of traffic, thats the first thing I notice.
This is the results for one of my niches.

I wish I could be more help, but I have never used that site before. I would guess that number 2 looks best given the numbers...
Hopefully you get more help!

You may also be interested in using overture's tools, and SEOMoz's keyword research tool. tells you how tough the competition is, pretty accurately, IMHO.
if/when you go further, SEOMOz page strength tool will also be helpful in analyzing the competition.
Good luck!
p.s. Here's some info on SEO tools.

I am wanting more to find numbers that will bring in $20 a day in a context ppc site. The thing about those numbers, is that each one of those have the same "key phrase" in it.
This is a project for my wife to try also. The goal is $20 a day in ppc for that site. I am also trying with a site that is doing well also. But my "key phrase" /niche came from another sites suggestions. I didn't use any tools to learn it.

They all suck. (going from what you have provided.)
How do I know? Two numbers - ratio and count.
So if your ratio is low ( < 1.0) then there are more searches then competition - ergo you should get a larger portion of the visits (presuming that the searching visits - which is not always the case). Great!
That leaves :
2.COUNT 5,099 PAGES 569,000 COMPETITION 247 RATIO 0.05
5.COUNT 1,690 PAGES 193,000 COMPETITION 0 RATIO 0.00
6.COUNT 1,303 PAGES 117,000 COMPETITION 37 RATIO 0.03
7.COUNT 1,174 PAGES 174,000 COMPETITION 23 RATIO 0.02
8.COUNT 1,027 PAGES 52,300 COMPETITION 0 RATIO 0.00
9.COUNT 985 PAGES 65,600 COMPETITION 0 RATIO 0.00
10.COUNT 978 PAGES 288,000 COMPETITION 0 RATIO 0.00
COUNT is how many searches were made in 12 months.
So the question comes as - does it worth your effort to optimize one or more pages for the above key phrases to gain 1 - 20% of the searches?
That's right. Remember the COUNT is how many people searched for it. Even if you are the sole page to show up, there is a reduced chance that they will follow your link from the search engine (which part I didn't include so you won't start sobbing), and when they get to your site, the reduced chance that they will click on an advertisement or buy a product from you... Depending on the niche that percent can be between 1% to 20% (yes, I seen higher and lower).
Let's say you run a forum, which averages 10% (you are like the envy of all) of Click-Through-Rate (CTR) of the advertisements.
If you optimized a page for #2 key phrase, you would get 1/247th of all the COUNT (presuming the distribution is a straight line - which is not). That is about 21 visits (20.6437) over 12 months, or roughly 2 (two) (1.7203) visits a month.
Ok, Let's say you are second position on a this key phrase. And you are the lucky bugger who gets 5 times the visits compared to the average joe... You get 10 visits (searcher follows the link to your site from the search engine).
Of the 10 visits, you get 10% or ... 1 (one) click on your ad/purchases through you/buys your service/product.
A month.
You just made a bangin' $0.05 through Adsense. A month.
So how much time/money/energy did you put in to optimize page(s) for that key phrase?
Look for low < 1.0 RATIO, and high (at least 12,000 - i.e. 1,000 a month) COUNT.

Pages: 2,400,000
Competition: 24,300
Ratio: 0.49

Ratio: 0.40

Another Question:
What's a ratio number where you think is more borderline to NOT persuing, granting good count.
For example, if you count is 12000/y whats the highest ratio you think you would persue,
if the count is extreemly high, what ratio would be too high to persue.
thanks

What do you think about this:
Count 2,339,102
Pages 3,650,000
Competitors 1,580,000
Ratio 0.68
There is also good affilate programs on cj for this keyword phrase. plus a few others that are simular with less count and ratio like
Count 18,729
Pages 32,700
Comp. 241
Ratio 0.01

Nichebot shouod be called crapbot. The best niches you will have to find yourself. No software can do it for you. I have found great niches that give me lots of traffic and revenue with little promotional work, but no way in hell I will tell you what they are. Why would someone create a program to help find niches when they can be making money usthing those niches instead? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Thank you for your constructive criticism, unionisnotdead.
Nichebot does make money. www.nichebot.com is the free and basic version of several online and and "off-line" products. If you follow some of the links you will discover that there are commercial versions of Nichebot.
So that is the reason "why would someone create a program to help find niches"... to attract business... You know, give a sample to sell more?
Since you think software is "crap" and cannot be done with it, how did you do it, without them?

They all look appetizing... from what you provided. Put the OVerture pricing next to it, and it will be much easier to decide.
Remember that the ratio just shows how much of the percentage of the visits you might get. You still have to compete.. with your competition. So The lower the competition number the better. what is easier? to be #1 amongst 13,000 or #1 amongst 1,770,000?

Not knowing the pricing and how the keyword is spread (the curve of visits), I would go for #2, the work hard on #1. Same as above, competition count...

Just want to remind everyone, I am by no means an expert, or even a mediocre SEO.
There are experts on here who are laughing right now reading my posts.
So please review and double check what I say with other sources.
And you know what "they say" - those who can't, teach...

Wouldn't be too sure about that. Just because a niche has a big count and a ratio below 1 doesn't automatically make it easy to rank well and make profit in. "online poker" has 0.60, good luck ranking well in that niche.
