They work good especially if the rest of the links on your page are default blue with an underline.

Really? Hmm, I should try making all my links blue underlined then for site links. I changed up to blue links for Adsense for a site that is 100% gray font, links or not and CTR went up .5%. Not a big deal, but a few dollars diff
Generally it works as that is what people are used to clicking on ... they are familiar with following blue links as most of the traffic intensive sites use them.
Although it is only worthwhile using them if they fit with your site design.

I had my block ads with default blue (0%/5%/6% CTR, max of 50 uniques a day). Just changed my banner ads and sidebar ads (blue background) to have blue titles.
Doesnt work for my site as they stand out to much. Nothing on my site is that blue color.
Same with me, I heard the same show where Lee said to use default blue. I've switched to test the waters - I've seen no change what so ever, neither positive or negative.
So turn links blue because people are use to blue... looks horrible but if it works...
It all depends on the site, I've ran my site with both the default blue and the standard link color my site uses througout - I've seen on difference in either setup.
