YPN displaying the same ads for entire forum

I have a forum on which I have tried to implement ypn. After the first day or two, I started getting a ctr of .01 or less. When I looked into why this might be, I noticed that the ads that they are displaying are the same ads on every thread of the forum.

Of course, I would love it if I could get them to display ads targeted to the exact content of the particular threads.

I am using the vb ad management from red tyger to implement the ads in every thread, and I assume that the issue is somewhat related to this.

Does anyone have experience with this sort of issue or ideas of how to change this?

There is no question that yahoo had advertisers in many of the various topics, and the title tags/title of the threads, plus the content on them, should be enough to trigger these correct ads, provided that I get the code to recognize the actual page it is on.

Thanks

YPN is notorious for their poor ad targeting

Agreed, YPN's targeting is lacking to say the least.

I had to ban about 15 urls in YPN just so I could get Mustang ads. Even then it wasn't very well targeted. I had Honda Civic ads, Ford Escape ads among other useless crap appearing.

OK, it seems like there is a consensus of ypn not doing a good job of delivering ads.

Nevertheless, what confounds me is the fact that every ad that is served is the same, which would lead me to believe that perhaps the fault is partly in how I am configuring them to show up. Perhaps they are drawing on the contextual aspect of just one page?

If I pasted the code onto specific pages, I doubt that the targeting would be perfect, but could I assume that I might at least get a few different ads to show up?

Thanks

you have to really play and tweak with YPN to get it working well and the way you want it to show ads even then it may not be to accurate.

Don't assume any quality when it comes to ad serving and YPN.

I'd go a step further and say don't assume quality when doing anything advertising-related with Yahoo.
