When I was running some CJ ads a while back, I've served over 20,000 impressions, and had a solid 3% CTR, but i never made a dime off them, so i stopped serving them.

How do you guys get CPA ads to work for you, because I can't seem to make anything off them.

I'm just getting started into it. Still not done with my website yet. I plan on launching an incentive website powered from CPA ads. A user will need to complete one of my offers and refer a certain amount of people to do the same, and they'll receive their "free" gift. I'll have a set amount of referrals so I make enough money to order the gift, and ship it for free. Users that aren't able to get enough amount of referrals won't get their gift, and that's how I'll make more money.

For an automotive site I fail to see how anyone can make anything off of CPA unless it is highly targetted.

The ford Vs chevy offer may do decent... but yes for automotive it could be tough... maybe try with CJ since they have more sites and mybe you can get a percent of the sale for products u mention on your automotive sites.

Been running affiliate ads for more than 4 months now, all I get are clicks but no t a single dime yet. I'm getting kind of tired and thinking I should stop serving them for now and maybe put them back again once my site is like more than a year old and with a solid visitor base.

any similar thoughts?

Or in other words, you plan on creating a website like freeipods.com? I've also thought about doing that, is that allowed with ads from Azoogle or such?

Well I think the freebie sites used to really be a good way to make money. But now people dont really want to sign up for an offer then have to get 10 others to join and do the same.

I think they would work if you could drive a really killer hype campaign,, get your name out there and get massive people signing up in the first week. But they do not live long, Once people start telling others that they still havent met all the requirements to get their gift then it starts to go down hill fast.

It is a great idea, say free laptop and get them to follow a set of requirements where they have to complete 50 offers for a 600$ laptop. But the key is that they have to be offers that have a high CPA.

I have noticed a lot of companies that advertise now saying their offers cant be incentive induced. I understand this as I wouldnt want a bunch of people signing up for offers that had no desire to do so except a free laptop or ipod.

If you've been advertising a sponsor for 4 months and haven't made any sales, its way past time to find a new sponsor.

But the problem might not be with the sponsor. You might not be presenting the offer in the right way or in the right niche or in the right place on your page or to the right market of shoppers. Or you're wasting your time on banner ads or sponsor written copy that 200,000 other websites are using. Or you just need more traffic to your site. There are a lot of variables, but when you get it right, it's possible to make a LOT of money with this kind of advertiser.
