CPM

I'm trying to work out whether I would do better switching to CPM. My website PureFTA averages 3,000-4,000 uniques daily and 60-90k pageviews, however we get spikes every few months which pulls in around 20-24k uniques daily, and 287-335k pageviews DAILY. However, I have never looked into CPM.

I would like to know how much I could expect to earn per month at an average CPM network based on 60-90k pageviews daily, but also how much I stood to make on the days we peaked at 24,000 uniques/287-335k pageviews.

I'm currently using google adsense and private advertisers.

I was going to suggest an ad network where I earn around $0.45 - $0.70 CPM on each banner ad where I use 3 different ad formats per page earning me a page CPM of around $1.35 - $2.10, but unfortunately they do not accept forum type sites.

I also noticed your site has just recently been hacked. Hope you get it fixed very soon.

AAAHHHHH the four lettered "H" word...my site got hacked a couple of weeks ago...i am still in the process of fixing everything...hope everything is well with your site. let me know if i can do anything.

For a forum you can expect anywhere from $.05 CPM (net) to $1.00 CPM or so. This depends on US/international traffic, the number of pageviews per visitor (which on a forum is high typically), and the ad sizes you are utilizing.

Thanks for your responses. We have since recovered from being hacked and have switched servers and improved site security. We lost 3,000 users as we were using a backup which was 7 days old.

However, we are still trying to fend off the occasionally DDoS attack.. but things are definately back on the up. I'm going to start looking into CPM advertising once we are 100% back up on our feet.
