I would just like to warn any of you based in the UK thinking about using ValueClick.
My experiences with VC started extremely well, my website was brining in around £15 a day from their banners. The end of the month came and I was excited about receiving my first payment, however once the payment date passed and I still hadn't received my money I began to get worried. After a week I gave them a call asking where my payment was. I was guaranteed it would be in by next months payment date, so I waited, and waited, and again I received nothing. (by this point they owe me over $1300) A week later I made a second phone call and was told she would "call me back" later that day. This never happened, so the following day I rang again and the person who answered my call seemed to recognise my voice:

Me "Hello, I'm calling about a late publisher payment."
VC "Ah, <my name>, I'm going to have to call you back, bye."

This pattern of unreturned phone calls continued for about another week, until I decided to try a different number listed on their site. I got through to a woman called Rose who told me due to a system error my bank details had only just been passed to accounting, and promised I would receive my money by the end of that month. As per usual, my bank account didn't show any signs of changing.
Today I made my most recent phone call and was put through to the original woman, who STILL seemed to recognise my voice.
She accused me of click fraud, claiming my CTR was extremely high (it's around 0.08%) and that she is investigating my case, and, you guessed it, she would have to call me back. I'm not a betting man but if I was, my life savings would rest on my phone staying silent today.

On the 20th September they will owe me around $2100.

Has anyone else had problems like this?

p.s. Sorry for the long post, I'm just very frustrated.

I've never had any issues from them, but can definately say that before it had a name change from FastClick to ValueClickMedia, in their TOS it did mention that you must receive more than a 0.25% clickthru rate. If it falls below that continuously for 4 - 5 days then you risk the chance of having your account terminated. I don't know what's changed, but it seems that TOS of 0.25% has gone from their TOS. Maybe it's because most of their publishers is generating less than that. I'm currenlty above 0.25%, more around the 0.50% - 1% mark.

Also, just because you have a high or low CTR doesn't mean you have cheat by clicking on your own ads, but then again you can have a very low CTR and still have click fraud happen.

I hope it all works out for you very soon and keep us posted.

@sideshow: you are not alone with your problems although mine is of a different nature. The gist of it is that I have been trying to correct my payment information for two months, and complicating the matter was that my Australian bank details are not accepted by the online form in the Payment Profile screen, and that they had screwed up my minimum payment threshold and had tried to issue a payment to my non-existent bank account.

After many emails for around 3 weeks, I decided to call in mid-August. The support person was very helpful and had asked me to resend my details to them. I did - no response again.

I called again yesterday and got another support person who asked me to do the same thing. I did - and surprise, no response or confirmation once more.

Other people have talked about their experiences here:

(am a newbie here, so copy and paste the address above)
