SOLVED!

I am having the strangest problem I have ever encountered in my life.

I am redesigning the website for my company here at work, and I have a search box and newsletter box on the left side of my website. In IE7, FF, and Opera 9 everything is positioned somewhat properly, but if I try to position anything relatively in the search area the search box itself including the button get tossed somewhere in front of the content.

I've always prided myself in just using one standard CSS file and not needing a separate file for different browsers, so I was wondering if anyone can figure out what is going on here, because I sure can't.

If it looks different than what I am describing its because I am still working on it.

If anyone can help, please do so!

Thanks ahead of time!

Hey FrankieB,

I guess my confusion lies in "somewhat properly". Is there something it's supposed to look like (screen cap, etc.)?

Somewhat properly means the search box is there, and the search button with the magnifying glass is next to it on the right, and its positioned underneath the word Search on the left sidebar. There is an advanced search link that should appear underneath the search box but I'm not concerned with that right now, only why the whole search area is being tossed in IE6.

Well, after some playing around, it seems that the left column had a float: left; on it that I didn't need considering the right side is floating properly. Once I removed the float on the left sidebar everything started to act normal again.

Thanks for letting me post here and letting the gears in my brain move a bit more :P
