Safari font placement issues

ok I am not really up on safari's issues, but for some reason some of my text in firefox and safari do not match up.

example i have a div with a background image applied to it. I am trying to align the text over a specific part of the background. However in safari the palcement is always higher or lower than that of safari.

if you take a look at the top left of the page there are two links

where you see

"Dealers, Click here to login."

for some reason the links align properly in firefox but not safari. I tried setting an explicit line-height and all that but no luck.

any help on what I can do to fix this issue as well as prevent it in the future is surely welcome.

You've got some serious problems in IE 6 too.
In Firefox, your logo and the photo are sitting over top of "Ride the Brand" too. Your menu's messed up too, the About is falling underneath the rest.

In Firefox, your 2nd "click here" is also dropping down below the shadowed area so it's sitting on top of the patterned background.

Safari usually renders the same as Firefox, and it has few bugs, but I'd fix the problems in Firefox and see if Safari comes into line too.

I have not done IE fixing yet I wanted to make sure that the compliant browsers rendered it correctly before going into that stage. As for Firefox not sure what your are talking about with the problems I am using Firefox and it is all lined up perfectly on my end.

Yes Safari does render most like Firefox however there are some big differences in the way it does which occasionally cause some issues. They are just not well documented.

Yes, that is the best way to do it, I'm just in the habit of looking at both because many people do NOT do as you are doing

Have you tried this site for Safari bugs ? It's one of the few that tracks them.
