A simple explanation:

HTML is a markup language to display web pages in a browser.

CSS is used to style the HTML elements. Layout, fonts, colors, etc.

PHP and ASP are scripting languages to make a page dynamic.

Joder's right, w3schools.com is absolutely the best place to learn all these things. You should start off learning HTML, then move onto CSS. Don't even try server side stuff like PHP until you can make simple web pages with HTML at least.
