I'm having a problem with my site with people who view using internet explorer. It doesn't happen all the time, but i'd say 50% it does and i can't find anything about it. On firefox it almost always loads perfect.
ok so sometimes images on my site load very stretched (mostly vertically). usually if i navigate to another page and then come back they will load correctly. What is wrong? Is there something wrong with my code? I figured it was a CSS issue but I'm not sure (sorry if this is in the wrong forum). I am not a web developer so I pretty much winged this site and I'm happy with everything except for this tiny issue.

Nobody has a clue? I went through the w3.org validation tool and corrected most of the errors but there are still a few. The CSS file got checked and didn't come up with any errors, what should i do???
I don't see how you passed validation, you're missing the opening <body> tag !
The problem is you have not PROPERLY defined a width and height for your images in the HTML on the <img> tag. Consequently, you're forcing the browser to GUESS and, well, IE just gets it WRONG. You NEED the dimensions, leaving them off is just sloppy coding.

Thanks for the suggestions. I realized i was missing the opening body tag, I didn't even notice it wasn't there. Again, I AM NOT a webdesigner so i am learning all this as I go. I figured it would load the images as they were so I will make sure to put in dimensions and the missing tags and see where that leads me. I'll let you know if that works.
Ok well I think I figured it out. I appreciate the help about my image tags but I have to inform you that it was wrong. When i looked at the code, it seemed the ONLY images that were stretching funny were the ones with the size attributes, so I added them to all my images like you said, but no change. I then just went ahead and deleted all height and width specifications and WALLAH, no more stretched images. Your suggestions did lead me to solve the problem though, not sure why this happened but it's good to know if someone else has the same problem then this could be why.
It is very sloppy coding to leave the dimensions off an image in your HTML. Sounds to me like you had the dimensions wrong. W/o the dimensions you're making the browser work harder and probably slowing down your load time too.
