I think its from the .css. I tried fixing the page errors and that doesn't help.
Please let me know whats going wrong. I have .css in the header and the link to the overall page style sheet is here < warez link removed >
heres the main page. < warez link removed >
the gap is between the top black horizontal menu bar and the google ad. To see how it is supposed to look, try it in firefox.

Thanks for any help.

It doesn't do it in IE7 for me, but it does do it for IE6 due to what looks to be float drop caused by IE6's doubled float-margin bug issue.

The answer (to add display: inline; to the #sidebar div) is explained at length there.

Interesting favicon you have on that site.

Thanks I'll check that out. I tried it in an old version of my site when it was working just now, and it seems to be the table which is doing it.
I'm going to try adjusting the tables width to see if that fixes it, but if anyone has anymore ideas please feel free to post.

Ive got it up now in a test folder, but it fails validation because of the doc type I'm using. What would be the best doc type to go with with the type of html code I am already using?

Sorry if I broke the rules. My site has nothing illegal on it. No files are hosted on my site.

That's a bit like saying;

"The robbery is nothing to do with me, I only drove the robbers to the bank"!

Not really, there are plenty of legal torrent files like Linux, little known bands trying to get noticed, open source software. Its like calling google a thief because it is possible to find pirated material on google.

A recent study on the impact of filesharing on CD sales shows that the more music people download on P2P-networks, the more CDs they buy.

University of London researchers, Birgitte Andersen and Marion Frenz surveyed a large group of Canadians to find out what the effect of piracy is on music sales. The results are surprising, at least, for the music industry.

peer to peer technology is 100% legal, its sharing copyrighted material without permission from the copyright owner that is against the law.
