hey gang, i've been fighting with this for some time now and I am hoping somebody here can help!!!

I have this design, http://insiteci.com/sample/abrams/ that i want to put into action.

The dark bar at the top will be the navigation and i'm hoping to have it centered in the space.

I can't seem to get the css to work right so that everything fits into place nicely.

I have tried everything i can think of, but there has to be a way to do it.

can anybody offer me some suggestions on the best way to achieve this?

here's what i have so far, but the text box should be inside the blue! grrrr

http://insiteci.com/sample/abrams/index.php

thanks in advance!

A.

That looks like a basic two-column design with a header. This tool http://www.inknoise.com/experimental/layoutomatic.php will give you a good start on the code.

That's not really what I am suggesting as it would not be the cleanest way to code it, but that is one option to get the job done. If you can manage it, I would recommend starting with that layout and building the elements within the header div.

Looks ok in Firefox. IE6 is choking on #banner and stretching the container.
Reduce the width of #banner by 215px and it should fit.
