Hi all - I have this site:

http://www.jessweiss.com/tt/index1.html

Two problems:

1) I want the "name" element (displayed as TrendTrack) to vertically line up with the "chartg" element (the log-in)
2) The other thing is that the space between both elements and the hr is HUGE in IE - its fine in FF.

Any thoughts on either issue? As always, TIA!

try adding this to #name:

margin-top: -8px;

And why don't you make
into
instead? This makes much more sense. If you do this you will also have to align the text to the left on #name, since h1 is currently defaulted to center alignment...

I would put a height on #chartg so that it's the same height as the #name. You may have to adjust padding to make them appear vertically aligned.

Also, in Firefox, the #banner is not enclosing the 2 floated divs inside it, check your clearing.

In IE, I believe the problem is the
you're using to clear. In order to combat the default spacing on a
I use the following:

clear:both;
height:0;
margin:0;
font-size: 1px;
line-height: 0;
