if you view that site in safari or ff you will notice that the text looks just fine. clean and nice.

if you view in IE, you will notice the text looks terrible.
this happens often there must be some reason.

anybody know?

thanks

What version of IE are you referring too?

IE 6 (and below) everything looks bad, and needs it's own style sheet
IE 7 is ok, but may need it's own sheet.
IE 8 is much improved and renders similarly to FF.

i don't have a problem with positioning or anything.

i am viewing it in parallels and i just realized that parallels is rendering text in any browser in a pixelated sort of way..

the best way to get things good in the two main browsers is to use divs,I always got problems with IE. Though I found that using divs diminishes the changes. So you could use <headings> in a menu with ff3 and IE7n and still use a pic immediately below without moving the div.

Could you not put in some conditional statements to show a different font if the browser is IE 5 or 6...

From the little I understand it should be ok as is, cant see how IE 6 will show different font or alter the aprearance of a font differently to IE 7, the font is either on the users pc or it isn't, or am I about to learn something new...

Again I cant see how the browser will show a different font on the same machine - if the font is on the machine it should show regardless of the browser.

But are are stating a number of options for you font selection, what I mean is do you have something like

font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

or just the one font specified?

yeah man i always do extensive fonts like, font-family: "Lucidia Grande", verdana, arial, sans-serif;

I'm not saying it's displaying different fonts, just in some browsers the (same)font looks bad and pixelated.

I'll take some screen shots.
